December is a very busy period for Thessaloniki. I like how people from all over the world gather in this city to celebrate together. People from different cultures and religions visit us to spend time with us and enjoy a warm hospitality in the hear of the winter.
As we do every year, this December we have prepared day trips from Thessaloniki to near destinations. One day excursions that will bring the guests of Thessaloniki the opportunity to see and learn about other smaller cities but equally beautiful. Cities who have created a festive atmosphere with their local Christmas Markets!
The first day trip from Thessaloniki will find us in Trikala. A small historical city in Thessalia, Trikala is the home of the "Mill of Elves", here in an old Mill Santa Clause decided to create a workshop. This is were all the toys get produced. Trikala on it's own has a long history, and is one of the few places that is build around a river. Join us on our Day trip to Trikala and the Mill of Elves on Sunday the 9th and the 30th of December and I will show you a small corner of the city that looks with a famous European capital....

Did you know that Santa has also made a post office in Greece? On the Sunday of the 16th of December we are organising a day trip to Oneiroupolis, the city of Dreams in Drama! One day excursion from Thessaloniki to a city who is more famous for her Short film festivals and ...well I can't tell you all the secrets of the city... You just have to trust me and join me to what is the first place to organise a Christmas Market in Greece.

Oh boy...yes I just said that..the most busiest (yes I also wrote that) Sunday of all year it's here..and you better run..run away from Thessaloniki as fast as possible because hordes of Greek tourists will come to shop until they drop. So if you are in Thessaloniki the weekend before Christmas the best thing to do is of course join me in our Day trip to Larissa. Larissa the so called coffee capital of Greece is the home of the Chrstmas Lake and the Wishing Park. You see...there is a pattern here. You make your wish in Larissa, you send your mail in Drama and your toy get's build in Trikala.
